My baby graduated from Preschool last Friday. I was going to do a Wordless Wednesday today with one of my favorite photos from that day, but I couldn’t post without saying a few words.
Yes, it’s just a Preschool graduation. But for a Mommy (who I might add is a tad bit emotional), it means her baby is no longer a Preschooler, toddler, infant, etc. It means he/she is a child. For me, he’s a little boy. All grown up. Too cool for kisses (hugs are still ok in front of his friends), having his first real kid birthday party this year, dressing himself, T-Ball, big boy stuff. No longer my sweet little boy who would crawl into my arms and just rock with me in the chair. Yes, I have his little brother to fill that void, but when it’s your first, it’s a bitter sweet moment.

As the Pomp and Circumstance song began, I beamed. Here comes my baby. I thought I’d cry, but instead I was one proud Momma…And he was one excited 4 year old…

Caeden,
I know someday you’ll be able to read and you’ll find this blog and after being embarrassed at first, you’ll realize the love we have for you. As I watch you grow, I know you’ll be just ducky in this great big world. As you begin your next chapter in life as an elementary student, remember that Mommy and Daddy are so incredibly proud of you and what you have already accomplished in life and what you are about to accomplish.
As the quote on your brother wall states, “Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the things you can think up if only you try!” . Always always always try Caeden. Give it your best and never give up. You are one smart little boy who will one day grow up to be a very smart young man. Be yourself and never let anyone tell you otherwise. Grow into that confident man I know you’ll be someday. Remember to never give up, never back down from a challenge and always love. Duncan watches you everyday and I know someday you’ll see that admiration. He wants to be his big brother in every since of the word and you are one amazing big brother. I’m so blessed that you are there to protect him when the going gets tough.
Thank you for being you. Thank you for coming into our lives and changing them for the good and best! You are one fabulous little boy and I cannot wait to start this journey with you. Remember we love you always and forever and remember you’ll always be my baby.
Love, Mom (Dad and Dunky-doo too!!)
